This blog is intended to be a logbook of my progress in the 3D Vision Research for the ITESM CEM(1) University and for the Humanoid Robot Team "Bogobots"(2). This proyect is intended to last one year but it might extend for a longer time period if necessary or if new research proposals arise.
The first stage of this research is about learning the general aspects of profesional investigation process and about deciding wich area is going to be researched. For now we have 3 options:
1) Realize recognition of shapes by using an industrial camera or a webcam. The idea is that a robot would be able to recognize shapes, lines, spheres, the goal and other robots.
2) Implement a DSP that would be able to process the images and analize them so it sends only the information needed by the computer and lets it save processing resources so it can use them for other important tasks.
3) Implement a Stereo-Cámara for the robot so it would be able to have a 3D perspective of it's sorroundings and will then be able to take decitions on them.
Part of the intention of this research is for implement a better capability of vision for the robots Bogobots so they would be able to have a much better perception of their surroundings.
